Your Next Read | The Soulmate Equation

After reading a few heavy books, I was in the mood for something lighter, and The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren was exactly what I needed.

Jess Davis is a single mom and data analyst who has no interest in diving into the world of dating. Especially since her father disappeared when she was younger, her mom was in and out of her life, and her ex decided he wasn’t father material before their baby was even born.

When Jess hears about GeneticAlly, a DNA-based matchmaking company, she scoffs. Her best friend, a romance writer who is always pushing her to date, drags her to the headquarters for “research”. When she hears how the company “matches” people using DNA and data, she is intrigued.

That is, until she receives a match with a score of 98, which is unheard of! Even more alarming is her match – the company’s founder, Dr. River Pena. She has already met him and thinks he is arrogant and rude; she cannot imagine him being her soul mate. When GeneticAlly proposes they get to know one another – and offers her payment for it – she finds it hard to refuse.

They go from one event to the next discovering whether they really are compatible or not. But will a startling revelation knock them off course?

I really enjoyed this book – it was cute and funny. An easy read – I finished it in a couple days. If you’re looking for light and fun, this is definitely a good one!

xoxo
