Your Next Read | Little Secrets

Whew, talk about a thriller. Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier is my 2nd book of the year.  Marin seemingly has the perfect life. She’s married to her college sweetheart, runs a successful business, has a beautiful son, and a supportive best friend. Her world is turned upside down when Sebastian is taken. Marin loses her son and loses herself in the aftermath.

When the very public FBI search goes cold, she hires a PI, who discovers that her husband is having an affair with a much younger women. When she finds this out, Marin springs into action – she’s not willing to lose her husband, too. She focuses her attention on her husband’s mistress, Kenzie and tries to solve the problem permanently.

This was a major thriller and I couldn’t put it down. I finished it pretty quickly, and I had to keep forcing myself to go to sleep each night. If kidnappings are a hard trigger for you, I likely wouldn’t dive into this – the first chapter nearly had me hyperventilating. Hillier does a great job of describing the grief that parents of missing children go through, but it is really heart-wrenching.  Proceed with caution, but if you want a page-turner, you should definitely check this one out.

xoxo,
