It’s been a long time since I thought about how struggling with infertility made me feel. But in this book by Colleen Hoover, I remembered clearly the pain of starting my period each month, and the emotional toil that trying and feeling like my body was failing took on me.

Quinn and Graham were brought together by a cruel twist of fate – their significant others were having an affair with one another. It doesn’t happen right away, but Graham convinces Quinn that he’s her soulmate. They start a beautiful life together – one full of love, family, and happy moments.
Nearly ten years after they meet, Quinn and Graham have had some great times. But they have also struggled with infertility – a battle that leaves Quinn feeling broken and empty. Can a wooden box bring them back to the day they said “I do” and show them that they don’t need anything else to be complete?
This book was a beautiful reminder of how our expectations can often push us away from those we love. Infertility can be such a tough topic to tackle. I think Colleen Hoover broaches the subject with respect and genuine understanding. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to struggle with conceiving, this book paints a poignant picture. Read it, but have tissues on hand!
