Car Accessories I Love

My lease was up on my car this past week, so we ended up getting a new car on Monday. While I was changing everything out from my old car into the new one, I realized that there are a few things I use in my car ALL the time and that I recommend.

Kick Mats

You know how kids of any age like to tap their feet on the back of the chair? Or kick it when they are angry and having a tantrum? Oh, no experience in that? Lucky you. My kids are the king and queen of this, so in my last car, we attached these kick mats to the backside of the front seat. It protects that seat back so well, and these have pockets, so kids can store items (especially helpful on longer trips) and throw away garbage. We also have these seat mats to protect the seat from the car seats, but before you get them, make sure they are compatible with your car seats.

Purse Hook

I purchased these hooks a few months ago but they didn’t work in my last car. I was so happy when I realized they worked in this new car! You know when you have your purse on the front seat (especially a tote bag) and you have to brake really hard, and everything goes flying? This is a super helpful solution for that. These hooks keep your bag and its contents off the floor of the passenger seat. You can also use them to hang items behind the passenger and driver seats.

Handheld Vacuum

I don’t keep this vacuum IN my car, but I do like to use it every week to two weeks to suck up some of the dirt and debris that the kids bring into the car on a very regular basis.

Essential Oil Diffuser

Currently, I am basking in the new car smell. But once that fades away, using an essential oil diffuser is so helpful, especially when we go on road trips. I got into this habit during the pandemic, when we took long road trips. It really helps when there are accidents of any kind in the car or when you have to eat in the car.

Packable Blanket

I like to keep a few extra things in the trunk always, just in case of emergencies. I usually have a roll of paper towels in there, but I also keep a packable blanket. This can be used for so many things – not just keeping warm!

Some other things I keep in the car are regular wipes, tissues, and disinfecting wipes (I feel they clean better than hand sanitizer and I’m always worried that those bottles of hand sanitizer will blow up with the heat!). Things I keep for me? A small sunscreen, mini tweezers, nail clippers, and a nail file!

What is something that you keep in your car that you have found super useful?
