Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister – A woman witnesses her son commit a crime after waiting up for him to get home one night. The next morning, she wakes up and relives the day… and then wakes up the day before the crime happens and relives that day. Every morning, she wakes up a day earlier, and every day, she grows closer to figuring out why this crime happens and how she can stop it. I think the writing in this book is so interesting. I didn’t expect the ending at all. The beginning of the book felt a little slow to me, but the more I went on, the faster I wanted to finish!

Of Women and Salt by Gabriela Garcia – Jeanette lives in Miami and is battling addiction. She is the daughter of a Cuban immigrant who wants to learn more about her family. She makes a snap decision to take in the daughter of a neighbor detained by ICE. Will Jeanette learn the history behind her mother’s turmoil? I will say, I struggled to read this one. I thought it would be different, and I must have chosen it impulsively because it took place in Miami. It is a heavier read, and it touches on addiction, immigration, and the things we do for family.

The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband by Julia Quinn – This is a prequel to the Bridgerton series, so if you liked any of those books, you might like this one, too! Cecilia Harcourt travels to America to find her brother Thomas, injured fighting in the Colonies. After a week of searching, she comes across his best friend, Edward. He’s unconscious and in need of care. So she vows to save his life, even if she needs to tell a lie to save it. This is a sweet read, a little predictable. It would make for an easy beach read!

Must Love Books by Shauna Robinson – Nora is an underpaid, overworked assistant at a publishing company. When she landed the job, it was her dream- but it’s been anything but. Her life is spiraling out of control, and they slash her already unlivable salary. She has to make ends meet somehow, and she decides to freelance for the competition. When a bestselling author from her publishing house sets his eyes on Nora, she has to decide where her loyalties lie – her new dream job, Andrew, or herself and her future? I finished this book quickly, and I enjoyed it.

Class Mom by Laurie Gelman – I anticipated this would be a fun read, and it was. I laughed through a lot of this book. Jen is a mom to a kindergartner, but she has two college-aged girls. It’s her second time around the class mom block, and she is not taking herself too seriously. Some of the other moms disagree with her methods and communication style, including asking for requesting contributions of special brownies for curriculum night and recording parents’ response times. Plus, add to the mix an old flame, a mysterious kindergarten teacher, and an impossible to please mom causing problems at every turn, and the job becomes way more than she signed up for.
