Easter Basket Must-Haves

Did you know that the Easter basket originated in 7th century Poland? Baskets contained healthy foods that families would have blessed by a priest on Holy Saturday before breaking their Lenten fast on Easter morning? Today, Easter baskets look very different, but we can continue to make them a reminder of what Easter is truly about.

We won’t be in town for Easter this year, so I’m considering taking a couple of small items I can put out for my kids on Easter Sunday. But regardless, if I was doing a full basket, these are the items I’d likely be putting in there.

Bath Bombs

My kids LOVE bath bombs and these from Tubby Todd are sure to be a hit!

Swimsuits

I try to include swimsuits each year since it’s right at the start of beach season for us. I love these from GAP, and they have them matching for boys and girls.

Catholic ABC Cards

Faith-based gifts help me remind my kids that it’s not about bunnies and eggs, but about Jesus’s resurrection. These Catholic ABC Cards are perfect for Chloe (4) and learning different parts of the faith.

Mass Parts Cards

Caleb actually received these in his basket last year and we have taken them to mass every Sunday since. They are perfect for helping him to stay focused on what is going on during mass and even helping him understand why certain parts of the mass are done.

Books

You knew I was going to include books in there, right? Caleb has been flying through this series (I still can’t believe I have a reader at home!), and this would be a great one for Chloe.
